me: I want to take this Interactive Media class next semester, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get into it because the professor is a bestselling author so it'll fill up fast
S: Oh, what books?
me: Just bunch of media and tech books, I think, but there is a lot of hype around him and he was also a panelist at the conference last week
[pause to look him up on wikipedia]
me: He also wrote a couple novels...[insert name of book]
S: Hey, I have that one. I'm pretty sure I gave it to you to read a long time ago, and you didn't like it. Remember?
me: ...oh
